I Heard The Voice Of Jesus Say

I heard the voice of Jesus say,

“Come unto me and rest

Lay down thou weary one, lay down

thy head upon my chest.”

I came to Jesus as I was,
Em                 D
weary and worn and sad
  Em             G       A
I found in him a resting place
    Em             D
and he has made me glad.

I heard the voice of Jesus say,
   Em            D
“Behold I freely give
    Em              G        A
The living water, thirsty one stoop
Em                 D
down and drink and live.”
  Em            G     A
I came to Jesus and I drank
   Em               D
of that life giving stream
   Em                      G      A
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived
    Em            D
and now I live in him
 
[Verse 3]
  Em                 G     A
I heard the voice of Jesus say,
  Em                    D
“I am this dark world’s light
     Em           G          A
Look unto me, thy morn shall rise
    Em             D
and all thy day be bright.”
  Em              G     A
I looked to Jesus and I found
   Em              D
in him my Star, my Sun
    Em               G         A
And in that light of life I'll walk
     Em                  D
till travelling days are done
